The work takes its point of departure from one of Nossis’s epigrams, in which bronze shields of the defeated are hung at a sanctuary and described as looking upon the bright light of the Sun. The curved surface, interpreted as a shield, defines an area of action. Enveloped within this area is a field of reflection. Conceived as a modular annex, the light is integrated into a vertical element that can be repositioned and revolved along the arc. 

The curved geometry determines the range of movement, and activates variations in reflection within this continuous field.

The work is concerned with the distinction between what is developed and explicit and what remains enveloped within the form. This distinction introduces a tension between the singularity of the object and the multiplicity it holds within itself.
